Who is a pastor?
A Pastor is are leader that God has ordained to take care, to nurture and to positively motivate people’s broken emotions in the church, and because of this, the pastor’s inner ability and feelings can also become so emotionally attached to the needs of the church member’s and if this pastor is not careful he or she may end up exalting the needs of the people above God’s will for their life.
In the Old Testament the pastor is compared to shepherd that looks after the sheep, the shepherd’s work was to anoint the sheep, to take the sheep to green pastures for feeding and to watch and protect the sheep (flock) from wild beasts, and in return he receives milk, wool (representing tithes), and meat (representing the people’s offerings) from the sheep.
But the most challenging task of a shepherd was when he had to take one of his young lamb or sheep from the flock and give it a way as a sacrifice to God.
When ever God asked for a sin offering from the people there was always a brave shepherd that had to release one of his beloved Lamb as a sacrifice to God, (a lamb is a young innocent baby sheep that is emotionally attached to the shepherd’s emotions of love)
David began as a pastor (a shepherd) in the place of sacrifice where he was willing to give away a sheep or a lamb (a tithe, an offering, or a token of submission) to the priest or the prophet as a sacrifice to God, and because of this God also promoted him into a office of a King ( Bishop) who had influence, authority, dominion and responsibility over an entire nation.
Today the most dangerous epidemic that is destroying pastors behind pulpits is the fear of releasing their sheep into God’s five fold ministry,
the strong emotional bond between the pastor and his church members, which some times may lead into sexual immorality, (spiritual emotions of the pastor and his church members turning into perverted feelings of sexual desires) for each other, that’s why God sends apostles and prophets as in (Luke11:49) to keep the pastor focused on the Heavenly vision, because when a pastor is able to submit his sheep or church into God’s perfect will, by allowing the apostles , the prophets and the teachers to impart the part of their revelation into his flock (church), this also gives the people’s offering, learning and understanding an opportunity to be part of the vision that is greater and bigger than the pastor’s calling, and on the other hand the pastor himself gets promoted from the office of being a pastor to the office of being Bishop.
The calling of a pastor is just a stepping stone of training that builds up, and transforms the pastor’s character from a person who looks at the church as income and a personal support for his dream, into a person that will allow the church to become the spiritual parliament house of God (a five fold ministry, made up of the apostles, the prophets, teachers, pastors and evangelists) so that the physical and spiritual transformation of the moral standards of the nation in which that church resides may take place.
